Who Should Apply?

The programs offered through Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) are designed for undergraduate students at Seventh-day Adventist colleges within North America; however, graduate students are also welcome. Often they are pursuing a major or minor in a modern language, but students majoring in other areas may also find it personally and professionally rewarding to study abroad for a summer or one full school year.

Ideally, students are advised to participate in their experience abroad during their sophomore year. Applicants should have competence in the second language at the intermediate level, but those who have made superior progress during two years of secondary or one year of college language may be admitted. Students must counsel with faculty in Southern's Modern Languages Department BEFORE traveling abroad in any of the academic programs.

What is ACA?

Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) is a consortium of Seventh-day Adventist colleges and universities in North America. It operates under the auspices of the Department of Education of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists located at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Silver Spring, Maryland. Southern Adventist University is a member of the consortium.
